Welcome to my site! Before I can take any credit for originality, I have to say that the lovely Goddess Hathor beat me to it here. I'm using this blog as a way to document, blog, my journey for the next year or two. Really as long as the Circle Tour, and my bank account lasts. While Hath's site is bravely documenting the tour in it's entirety, this will mainly be the shows that I'm lucky enough to go to. Reviews, some pictures, a video or two and of course all the drama that comes with traveling throughout the country following Jon and the boys. Happy reading and more importantly, happy touring!

Road Trip...Leg 1

Well this was our first leg of road trips on the tour, and let me say I hope the rest are MUCH better. We left for Michigan at 6:30AM Tuesday morning and headed out through Pennsylvania and eventually Ohio. About three hours into our trip, well in Penn, I got a speeding ticket. Granted I was speeding, but I was keeping up with traffic (technically people were passing me) and I of course was the only one who got pulled over. *Rolls Eyes* So over $150 later, My ticket is mailed back, but it was stupid and made me drive slow the rest of the way. But to make me feel slightly better there were two other cars pulled over in Penn and they were both from Jersey...I think someone is jealous. As I'm sure I mentioned before, my best friend lives in Michigan (on the way to Auburn Hills) so we finally got to her apartment around 6:30 and stayed for dinner. We finally checked into the hotel near the arena close to 10pm and recovered from the eternal day. The next day we visited with family of my friend's until it was show time. Show review down below... After the show we packed and hit bed pretty early for the looooooong (12+ hours withOUT stopping) drive on Thursday. Thursday morning we left at check out around 11:30 and after a (thankfully) boring trip on the world's longest and most deserted and darkest road (RT 80 ESPECIALLY the 300+ miles through Pennsylvania) we got back to my house around 1:30 AM. Talk about a long day.I have officially sworn off Pennsylvania (knowing full well that I'm going back to Philly on Tues). Friday morning (today, I think, LOL) I got up early from school and went right to work, where I am now. I'm SO ready to crash (with a half dozen papers to write before Monday) before my chaos week begins. Five concerts, four Bon Jovi, in seven days and work and school. Not to mention I just entered for the Soul concert tix Wednesday so I will hopefully make it six in seven. I may need a full month off to recover. So who's going to Philly let me know. I can't wait, I'm already two shows in and trying to control myself not to upgrade to pit tickets. *Sigh* They're that good.

I know I said review about the show below, but that was a lie because I didn't go through pictures, etc yet. So here's the set list just to give you a glimpse, as if you didn't check bonjovi.com or BSW...

Omaha Homebound Train

Youtube is giving me a ridiculous amount of problems uploading this video so I'll just dump it here. It's off my blackberry so the quality sucks but the sound is there. I also just added the setlist to my last post. Enjoy :-)

Omaha Review...

I know, I know, it took me long enough to get this out.

We took the shuttle to the venue and arrived about 6. After wandering around for a while, and asking the locals if the happened to see a tent outside which was answered with a confused look, we finally got directions from one of the workers at the box office to the Backstage tent. Now to get from the main entrance to the tent you have to go to the back of the building. And you can't just walk around the building, you have to go over it. Like up 60 (they were counted) steps, over the building and then down 60 more steps. Did I mention it was raining? So we finally get to the tent (which only keeps Jullian, and Matt when he's there, and the tickets dry) and of course there's people in front of us. We overheard the people in front of us talking to Jullian and they must've been talking for a bit because he's joking with the woman and asks her, "That's like asking which came first the chicken or the egg." At which point I turn to my friends, feeling the breakdown that we've been successfully suppressing all day coming, and say "You do realize if he asks me that it's gonna end in tears and I'm gonna be damn near inconsolable because he's gonna hear ALL about Javier and Milwaukee and Minneapolis and being homeless." Thankfully he didn't ask (because god knows what we look like at this point) and he gave us our tickets. And they were he right tickets, which is the first and ONLY thing to go right all day.

Thanking him, and counting our few remaining lucky stars, we treked back over the 120 steps back to the main building. Checking out the merch stand (omg Jon why is everything SOOO expensive) I walked over to a nearby bench where everyone was lined up waiting to be let into the arena. Evidently this is highly offensive in Omaha, though I have not yet discovered why. People were staring and whispering, which sincerely confused us. One woman went as far to say "Not even I would do that." She was on crutches, with a broken/sprained foot/leg/something. I wish I would've heard so I could've asked why. So anyone out there reading who would like to shed some light on the topic, I'd appreciate it because I am now sincerely curious.

Anyway, we finally got up off the forbidden bench and made our way through security. On the way to our seats we were kinda backstage-ish (we passed the Dashboard Confessional dressing room) and on to the floor. We had AWESOME seats (as you can kinda see from the pics). My friends were 4-ish rows back from the circle and I was 6 rows back from them on the aisle, Hugh/Richie side. Dashboard Confessional (yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, YUCK) went on at 8. They were loud, like organ vibrating, 10 times louder then AAR loud. Boring, like every song sounded the same and I was starting to literally fall asleep, even though I would've vibrated off my chair. Just not good, we are SO not seeing them again. And I almost wanted to cry when I saw that they were doing New Giants. Anywho, I lasted about 2 1/2 songs before I gave up and walked back out to the hall. Everyone had said they only played 20 minutes so I was expecting it to be over soon but of course, with the day Omaha was giving me, they went on and on and ON until almost 8:45. When they finally left I made my way back to my seat, passed Rew, and tried to recompose myself from the whole DC experience. A couple minutes after I was back in my seat Paul Korzillus (the band's manager) was walking by me and I was SO tempted to stop him and tell him exactly what I thought about the opening act. I decided it was better to hold my tongue because a) I didn't want to be thrown out and b) I knew damn well it wouldn't have stopped with DC sucks and I won't be back to a show before 9 the rest of the tour unless you get rid of them. So I let Paul pass, but in my head we had a wonderfully pleasant conversation.

The show started at 9:15, with This is Our House, over the PA system before the band took the stage. (Full set list at the bottom) During the course of the show I swear half the crew walked by me. Paul walked by me again, and again I was tempted to give him a piece of my mind, I saw Rew at least once more. Matt and Jesse must've passed me at least a dozen times each, and one of the new camera guys was out filming the crowd for BJTV and Rob was out filming/taking pictures while the guys were on the circle. I swear there was a party at the soundboard that I felt I was missing. LOL Cutest, not band moment of the night, Matt gave gave one of Jon's guitar picks to a little boy who was 8-ish years old in the front row of the "100 level" sections. The kid was so confused and then so excited once he realized what it was. Total AWW moment.

The crowd was well, interesting. I think I was one of 15 or so that weren't falling down drunk. Like a literal, falling down drunk. As in the three women in front of me fell down so many times I lost count at about 15. And the people in front of me were SO tall. Now I'm 5'8ish, so I don't usually have problems at concerts because unless I have a huge guy in front of me I'm pretty good. All of these people were SO tall and in heels I felt short, which is why there's a ridiculous amount of hands and heads in my videos and pictures.

The show itself rocked and was worth the day of hell, as if there was any doubt. The new set up was amazing and there were crazy things going on with the screens, robots excluded. The robots are freaking ridiculous on a whole other level. If you haven't seen them in action yet, youtube a recent We Got it Goin' On. He's all over those things. Amazing. Go youtube it now. Here I'll do your work for you, this one's from Denver. It looks even better in person. I'm totally LOVING the idea of the circle, love seeing ALL of them up close. And Richie was drinking out on the circle, like he's never drank before. Jon felt the need to strip right after the circle as he ran off stage. It was a good 4 seconds before he disappeared. NSG was a WONDERFUL surprise. Love's the Only Rule, was amazing live. If you haven't heard Jon's whole schpiel about it, go youtube it. (No I'm not doing that one for you.) It was nice to hear Sleep, back in the set since it became such a staple last tour, but I did miss Richie giving me the finger :-( probably because I always give it back to him and I kinda needed to give it back that day LOL

I think that's all for the show. It was a great show when all was said in done, DC included. But I bought enough postcards at the airport so I never have to go back to Nebraska. Fun Fact of the day...the Omaha airport is in Iowa. That kinda summarized my trip LOL

I'll be back next week after the Michigan show. NO travel drama there, because we're driving and nothing is going to happen to my car! *Knocks HARD on wood*

Travel Day From Hell

Thank god for Javier. Anyone who is friends with me on facebook knows just how much I LOVE Javier. Javier is one of those stories that you know from the very beginning you know you'll be telling it all over again when your 97 at a nursing home and you're still be just as thankful 70 years later.

Staring at the beginning, things were going smoothly. Monday night I headed to Queens to stay with a friend of mine who was coming with me because she lives right by the airport. After getting just a little lose, because it always seems to happen at least once when I'm driving, I got there and we had dinner. Heading back to her apartment for a while we (kinda) discussed the shows for the rest of teh month before making a midnight run to Dunkin Donuts. I finally crashed around 2 after been up since 6am the day before while my other two friends toughed it out and stayed up. At 4, Jon personally woke me up (via my WWWB ringtone). After repacking the little I took out the night before and quadrouple checked my ID and confirmations, we got a cab at 4:30 and headed to the airport.

Because we couldn't check in the day before, we went to a kiosk where it again refused to let us check in so we headed to the ticket counter where we first met our guardian angel, Javier. He checked us in and gave us our boarding passes (LaGuardia to Milwaukee and Milwaukee to Omaha). Thanking him we headed through security, which was surprisingly crowded for 5am, and proceeded to our gate. Around 5:45 Javier (who magically appeared) came over to where we were sitting and told us that after we checked in out flight had been delayed from 7 to 8:40. We thanked him and he told us that our connection wouldn't be a problem since it was the same plane. After checking in at home so my mom didn't panic when I didn't check in at 7 when I got on the plane, we waited "patiently" not wanting our flight to be delayed anymore.

A little before 8, Javier came over to us again and told us that our flight from Milwaukee to Omaha was canceled and to see the guy at our gate to be rescheduled because he was working on a flight at another gate. Immediately we went over and waited what seemed like an eternity for him to get off the phone. Just to remind you, the three of us, who are on a mission to see Jon, are working on a collective 3 hours sleep. Over the next half hour or so he tired his best to help us but the Milwaukee airport kept changing their story. First the airport wasn't allowing departures, then the whole airport was closed, then our flight was the only one canceled. After putting up with this endless and meaningless circle, we were told because of the fog if we were able to get TO Milwaukee there was a good chance that we weren't getting out so the search for an alternate connection began with him telling us the earliest he could get us in was 4 when ticket check in was at 5.

Finally Javier came back over to us and went to work getting us there, through another city AND early enough. He started making reservations for us and personally called the airport in Minneapolis/St. Paul, out new connecting city, to ensure we didn't have weather delays. He printed out confirmations for the 10:10 Delta flight. Seeing it was after 8:30, we thanked him repeatedly and quickly made our way to the shuttle to take us to the Delta terminal and go thought security again. As we read through the confirmations he handed us we saw that he left us his name and number in case there were any problems. Even checking in at Delta their ticket agent told us that he took care of everything so all she had to do was print our passes.

We got to the gate with about 25 minutes to spare and were relieved to see that it was on time. After the ordeal we had already been through we became overly panicked when a Delta employee asked us if we were on the Minneapolis flight for fear that it had been canceled or delayed (in either case we planned on calling Javier) when she was only trying to tell us that there was Wi-Fi on the flight. (And that's Wi-Fi girl) We finally boarded with our flight and made out connection in Minneapolis smoothly. We were SO thankful to hear our flight crew say the three magic words..."Welcome to Omaha!"

After sleeping a but on the flight we are "refreshed" now having a collective 7-ish hours between us. We called the hotel and asked them to sent their shuttle for us. Arriving at teh hotel we went to check-in, only realizing that Priceline made a mistake and there was no room for us and the hotel was booked. Frustrated, exhausted and homeless, we contemplated calling Javier to save the day again. Deciding against it the front desk worker at the hotel was able to find us another hotel in the area with a room for us. (Boy people are nice and helpful in other parts of the country). Taking their shuttle to our new hotel, we checking in problem free. We went up to our room and unpacked a little as we started to get ready for the show. A little before 4 we tried to order pizza to ear, since we hadn't eaten since Dunkin' Donuts 17 hours earlier, but they insisted that they didn't deliver until 5. (Ummmm seriously??)

TO recap the day so far...Javier saved our trip, our flight was a disaster, our hotel was a disaster (leaving us temporarily homeless) and now we can't get fed. Now we're just waiting for something to go wrong at the show or with our tickets to complete our day from hell, knowing full well this will send us into inconsolable hysterics. Eventually we gave in and ordered the food at a time when they delivered. Around 5:40 we headed to the lobby to take the shuttle to the Qwest Center. But the show, that drama, details, pics and video will be in Part III (I guess that's technically what it is) but I will tell you that Jullian was about 5 seconds away from making me cry.

Wednesday morning went as smooth as can be up until this point (written on the flight from Milwaukee to LaGuardia and it THANKFULLY ended that way). And we bought Javier a postcard from Nebraska thanking him again because without him NONE of the trip, and it's subsequent disasters, would have been possible. Hopefully we'll get to see him for ourselves one more time. But we didn't see him but you can bet your asses I'm getting that thing mailed.

Omaha Part 1

This is really just a check in. It was an insane 36 hours but I made it there and back. I have a review in two parts and pictures and video but that's gonna have to wait until tomorrow. After I had 8 hours of sleep since Monday, I think it's time for a good night's sleep. Not to mention I was in five states today. Who knew that the Omaha Airport was in Iowa?? Lots to come later :-)

Less Than ONE Week...

It's Wednesday night and I just realized that this time next week I'll be BACK from Omaha! I've been waiting since October and it's FINALLY here, I can't believe it! My adventure starts Monday, after a FULL day of field work, I'm staying with a friend by the airport. Terribly convenient since we have an EARLY morning flight on Tuesday. 7 AM flight on Tuesday, with a stop in Milwaukee gets us to Omaha around 10:30 local time. Then it's SHOW TIME, a lot of hours later LOL. Depending on how boring Omaha is, I may be tempted to make a sign. Before you ask, no I won't be doing a PBP, I know myself better than that. And I'll be in video mode, and yes if they come out well I'll share. I'm thinking about tweeting the trip, but I don't know how long that would last either. I'll let you know when it gets closer. I have a feeling there may be a lot of downtime (especially at the airport Wednesday morning) so a blog may happen about the show, but it'll probably be short since I'm just bringing my blackberry and not my computer.

At some point I'll have the actual set list up (not the set list that's on bonjovi.com that wrong more times then not) and by the time I get home the miles traveled will be "2320" not to mention I'll only have a week until my next show :-)

Anyone heading out to the show drop me an email or comment and let me know!
